Telephone
calls to our physicians’ offices (during
office hours) are answered by Registered
Nurses experienced in both inpatient and
outpatient obstetrics and gynecology. Patients
are encouraged to call for health concerns
related to their OB/GYN care, including
emergencies and on going needs. The R.N.
will discuss your symptoms and concerns,
answer questions, confer with the doctor,
and advise you as to the appropriate next
step.
AFTER HOURS/EMERGENCY LINE
Nights, weekends, & holiday emergency
calls are routed through the Medlink answering
service 512-323-5465. A nurse or a physician
will then return your call.
Use of the Emergency Line. Patients should call
- Before they go to the hospital regardless of whether it is an obstetrics or gynecologic issue.
- For Obstetrical issues that cant wait to the following business day
- For Suspected Gynecologic or Obstetric emergencies
- For Weekend infertility appointment questions or scheduling
*** We ask that the emergency line not be used for prescription requests or refills. We also feel that minor infections need to be addressed in the office and it is not good practice to treat patients over the phone. If over the counter medications are not helpful, then patients are instructed to go to an urgent care or an ambulatory care facility.
