Breastfeeding Classes – Taught by Laura Lamb, BSW, IBC
If you are planning to breastfeed your new baby, it would be a great idea to learn the basics of how and why before baby arrives. Many mothers report that their breastfeeding class was more helpful than childbirth classes because they hope to breastfeed a lot longer than labor will last!
Classes are taught in a comfortable and casual atmosphere with humor. Laura started her Lactation career over 18 yrs ago at the WIC program and has been working as a hospital lactation consultant for over 14 yrs. She currently works full-time at St. David’s Womens Center of Texas. Laura has taught breastfeeding classes throughout her career to parents-to-be and to the nurses that care for those new babies and moms.
Laura utilizes InJoy’s Better Breastfeeding Parent Guide to enhance and continue your learning even after you leave class. The Parent Guide allows you continued access to all the videos and information from the comfort of your own home.
When: Classes will be on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of each month, from 1-3pm.
Where: Waiting room of AAOBGYN, on the 1st floor of St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas
Where: Classes are held in the waiting room for Austin Area OBGYN, on the 2nd floor of St David’s Women Center of Texas
Cost: $35 per couple.
Class is limited to 10 couples or 20
